HIGH STRENGTH

Larch wood is highly durable. In terms of strength, it even outstrips oak - 96 MPa against 94 MPa. Moreover, due to the special composition of the resin, larch only gains strength over time.

Moisture Resistance

Larch is one of the rare wood species that becomes even more durable when exposed to moisture, making it ideal for outdoor and wet-area applications. Among hardwoods, oak shares this unique property, as both species develop increased resistance to decay and weathering when in contact with water due to their natural resin and dense grain structure.

Fire Resistance

Siberian Larch is naturally fire-resistant, offering significantly higher ignition temperature and slower burn rate compared to many other softwoods. Its dense grain structure and high resin content contribute to enhanced fire performance, making it a reliable choice for projects requiring elevated safety standards.

SIBERIAN LARCH

Siberian Larch (Larix sibirica) is one of nature’s toughest and most beautiful building materials. Harder and longer-lasting than pine, cedar, or linden, it’s been trusted for centuries in everything from homes to ships.
Grown in the harsh climates of Eastern Siberia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and parts of China, this wood thrives where few others can. Its natural resin makes it incredibly resistant to moisture, decay, and insects—no chemical treatment needed. That’s why it’s been used for load-bearing beams, roof supports, window frames, and ship hulls. Larch foundations have stood beneath entire cities: Venice’s legendary stilts are made of it, and Amsterdam’s canal houses were built on larch piles that still hold strong after centuries underwater.
Aside from its strength, Siberian Larch is striking in appearance—ranging from soft yellow to deep golden brown, with rich grain patterns similar to red oak. Durable, versatile, and naturally elegant, it’s a wood that performs as beautifully as it looks.

Remarkably strong and does not warp or deform with age.

Siberian Larch wood is highly durable. In terms of strength, it even outstrips oak - 96 MPa against 94 MPa. Moreover, due to the special composition of the resin, larch only gains strength over time. In terms of hardness, it is only one point behind oak - 109 units on the Brinell scale against 110 (oak). In terms of their strength, larch building materials are several times superior to building materials made of wood of other coniferous species, while in terms of their physical and mechanical properties, building materials made of oak. The resins with which the wood is saturated give it unprecedented strength - over time it becomes so hard that it can no longer be processed. Due to the high density, the building material does not deform over the years.

HIGH DEGREE OF MOISTURE RESISTANCE, THEREFORE THIS MATERIAL IS NOT SUBJECT TO ROTTING FOR SEVERAL DOZENS OF YEARS

Siberian Larch is one of the few wood materials that benefit from contact with water (from hardwoods, oak has the same property). It hasauniqueproperty - toresistdecay. The reason is gum (a natural substance) that protects the wood from damage. If you make your bathroom floor out of this wood, it is unlikely to need replacing within the next 50-60 years. Sometimes larch floors last for more than a century, with the boards getting stronger and stronger. Excellent moisture resistance indicators make it possible to use this wood in the construction of baths, terraces or piers. At the same time, the material is characterized by a high degree of resistance to decay.

FIRE RESISTANCE OF MATERIALS FROM LARCH IS TWO TIMES HIGHER THAN FROM PINE AND OTHER WOODTHE AESTHETIC APPEARANCE OF THE MATERIAL THAT IS DEMANDED BY DESIGNERS WORLDWIDE

Siberian Larch offers up to twice the fire resistance of pine and many other softwoods, thanks to its dense grain structure and high resin content. This makes it a preferred choice for both interior and exterior applications where safety is a priority. In addition to its performance, Siberian Larch is prized for its natural beauty—featuring a rich spectrum of warm tones from golden honey to reddish-brown, along with pronounced growth rings that create a visually striking texture. Its refined appearance, combined with excellent durability, has made it a favourite among architects and designers worldwide for use in cladding, flooring, façades, and decorative joinery.
